Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Tamannaah and Anushka Shetty’s Baahubali 2: The Conclusion is all set to hit the screens on April 28, marking an end of the two-film series. We will find the answer to why Kattappa killed Baahubali and also see the battle between Bhallaladeva and Mahendra Baahubali. But don’t worry that won’t be the end to the franchise! Baahubali director SS Rajamouli has some other plans too. Not only are there reports of a spin off movie (Baahubali 3) being made, but also a TV and animated series will be launched. A book on Shivagami has also been released, but the makers have a few more plans.
As SS Rajamouli revealed to CNN-News18, “The world of Baahubali will continue in various different formats. When we started creating the story for the film, we realised there is much more there. For example, the story starts of with Shivgami being the powerful queen mother and we asked questions to ourselves, how she became so powerful? There must have been incidents in her life that made her so powerful. So we started writing down the backstories, we started writing stories of why Bhallaldeva and Baahubali went on to become completely different characters when they were raised by the same mother. So we had so much of rich storytelling that we have on our hands, which is not a part of the film itself.” (ALSO READ – SS Rajamouli pleading for Baahubali 2 release in Karnataka screams political censorship – watch video)

Virtual reality will also be a format that the makers will make use of to engage their fans. As Rajamouli added, “We were exploring different avenues where we can tell these wonderful stories to the audiences and almost at the same time, Raja showed me this virtual reality experience, which is a roller coaster ride. You sit in your seat in some room, you put on your head glasses and you are transported into that (place), you feel like you are there, you experience that you are in a different world. And halfway through this experience, I started thinking how to tell my story through this exciting medium. So on one hand we have this great medium and on the other hand we have these great stories, so we brought them together. So yes, I think with virtual reality and this world of Baahubali, there is more to come and we are immortalising the world of Baahubali and the characters.” (ALSO READ – Rs 800 crore!
