On being asked about the process of getting into the characters and delivering a high octane performance, Sanjay exuded, “Firstly, I’m just overwhelmed with all the appreciation and love audiences have shown me for my character of Abdali in Panipat. It stays to be one special role. I don’t have a process as such, it’s only when I feel strongly about a character is when I take it ahead. Filming historic projects isn’t easy for sure, but if everyone knows what they have to do exactly, half your work is done. Also, I’m really looking forward to all the madness on sets of Prithviraj with Akshay.”

His movie choices have been divergent and parallel as compared to his contemporaries and Sanjay has aced the portrayal of Abdali to perfection.
