The Lion King, Hrithik Roshan starrer Super 30 and Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao starrer Judgementall Hai Kya held kept the box office afloat, despite new releases.
The Lion King collected a massive Rs 81.57 crore in first week. Due to the release of new Bollywood, it dropped slightly on second week with Rs 45.75 crore but grew again in third weekend, collecting Rs 2.02 crores on Friday, followed by Rs 4.31 crores on Saturday and 5.35 crores on Sunday, summing up the total to Rs 139 crore.
Super 30, had a wonderful first week with Rs 75.85 crore. Even though there was a big release last week in form of The Lion King, the student drama continued to win hearts of the audience in the second week with Rs 37.86 crore and Rs 17.94 crores in the third week.
Based on true incident, Super 30 faced two big releases – Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao starrer Judgementall Hai Kya and Dilijit Dosanjh and Kirti Sanon starrer Arjun Patiala but held well as it entered the fourth weekend. The collection crashed with Rs 96 lakh on Friday. There was a good growth on Saturday with Rs 2.10 crore followed by another Rs 2.52 crore on Sunday, raising its 24 days total to Rs 137.23 crore, crossing the lifetime collections of Ranveer Singh Gully Boy (Rs 135 crore approx)
Judgementall Hai Kya
Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao starrer Judgementall Hai Kya showed a good hold on its first week at the box office with Rs 31.42 crore.
Due to the new releases, the crime drama dropped to Rs 1.60 crore on 2nd Friday but grew back 2.24 crores on 2nd Saturday followed by slight growth of 2.58 crores on 2nd Sunday, raising the 10 days total collection has become Rs 37.84 crore, crossing its budget of 35 crore.
