Happy 35th birthday, Gisele Bündchen! The highest paid model in the world seems to have it all: a legendary career, a supportive and hot husband, two adorable children, and legs that defy gravity. Bündchen was the first of the late ‘90s Brazilian model wave to reach acclaimed international success, effectively ending the heroin chic trend of models epitomized by Kate Moss. In the place of pale waifs were bronzed, leggy, sexy goddesses with Bündchen leading the way. The supermodel pioneered the “horse strut,” a powerful walk in which the knees are picked up high and the feet are placed directly in front of each other. In fact, her big break came when Alexander McQueen selected her for his Spring 1998 show, noting her ability to walk in uncomfortably tall heels. He dubbed her “the Body” — a nickname that has stuck to this day, even though it was also legendary model Elle MacPherson’s title. In April 2015, Bündchen walked her last runway in Brazil for Colcci, ending her 20-year-long runway career where it had started: São Paulo Fashion Week. To celebrate the original Brazilian bombshell, whose versatility and charisma has allowed her to walk the runway for everyone from Marc Jacobs to Victoria’s Secret, here are Bündchen’s best runway moments.Related:#TBT Gisele Bündchen’s First Vogue CoverGisele’s Sexy Chanel Video: 7 Behind-The-Scenes SecretsDid Gisele Just Admit That Ads Are Unrealistic?
Miley Cyrus is hosting the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, August 30, and you may have spotted the promos featuring the provocative performer sticking out her tongue — as usual. Her tongue made its famous appearance at the 2013 MTV VMA, when she performed a medley of songs onstage with Robin Thicke, but she was well known for sticking out her tongue in public even when she was moonlighting as Hannah Montana on the Disney Channel. In September 2013, the star told Rolling Stone about how her signature tongue pose emerged out of a desire to avoid smiling: “I just stick my tongue out because I hate smiling in pictures. It’s so awkward. It looks so cheesy. Now people expect it — like, ‘Put your tongue out!’” For Cyrus, the deliberate choice to stick out her tongue instead of smiling prettily for the camera is an empowering move: “Every other girl is so serious – like, this is my moment on the red carpet, I’m in my ball gown, looking pretty. There’s something empowering about what I’m doing right now,” she told Rolling Stone. “Because there’s not one thing that defines what beauty is.”In the Quentin Jones-directed short film, Miley Cyrus: Tongue Tied, released in May 2013 on Nowness, Cyrus plays up her provocative image, sticking out her tongue, writhing around and winking at the camera. “Her poses are jokes, even that infamous tongue — stuck out — remains firmly in cheek,” explained Adult editor, Sarah Nicole Prickett in a story for Nowness. “She holds up the cardboard cut-out and winks. Get it? She’s playing with herself.” Since becoming one of the most outspoken pop stars today, Cyrus has also been dedicating herself to her nonprofit foundation The Happy Hippie Foundation, which fights injustice against vulnerable populations like homeless and LGBT youth. “No one should have to hide who they really are, no matter what his or her name, gender, status or orientation,” Cyrus, who says she’s gender fluid herself, wrote on the website. “It is our mission to make sure those who question the value of themselves and their lives feel protected and loved.”Tongue out or not, she’s just being Miley. Movies lately are a yawn-inducing repetitive loop of superheroes and blockbuster sequels. Plus, any cool roles for women over 50 seem automatically to go to Meryl Streep. Sadly, there seem to be fewer and fewer richly layered, complex roles for more seasoned actresses. But on the small screen, it’s an entirely different story. TV is celebrating mature women with smart, powerhouse, kickass roles. Think Viola Davis’s sexy, diabolical, brilliant professor on How to Get Away With Murder, Jessica Lange’s not one but four distinctive roles on American Horror Story, or comedy genius Lily Tomlin reuniting with Jane Fonda on Grace & Frankie. At the 2015 Emmys the best in television and some of the greatest actresses ever were in the spotlight. Dree Hemingway is the newest face of the Chloé fragrance campaign, shot by Inez and Vinoodh. In May the French luxury brand announced that Dree Hemingway, great grand daughter of Ernest Hemingway, would be the new face of the fragrance campaign. Hemingway follows in the footsteps of Clémence Poésy, Chloë Sevigny, Anja Rubik, and Suvi Koponen. The new ads, shot by fashion photography duo Inez and Vinoodh, feature a stripped down Hemingway, who after lighting up the Chloé catwalk last year, became an obvious choice to front the campaign. Amy Schumer’s Inside Amy Schumer just won the first ever Emmy Award for Outstanding Variety Sketch Series, and while on stage accepting her award, Schumer remarked that she should have prepared a speech beforehand. “Thanks everybody who helped me — the girl who gave me this smoky eye,” she said, giving a shout out to her makeup artist. Right before Schumer accepted the award, Tiller post a photo on Instagram of the makeup team doing touchups right in front of the Emmys stage.

It wasn’t that long ago that the Kardashians were a joke. Despite her love for fashion, Kim’s first magazine cover involved wearing very little when she was on the 2007 cover of Playboy.
