These little actors had once won us over with their cuteness. While repeated telecasts of old films like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Koi Mil Gaya, and Sooryavanshi in Zee Cinema and Sony leave me nostalgic, I often end up wondering, what exactly are these kids doing nowadays.
The Burari mass suicide incident that claimed 11 lives of a family has left the entire country stunned. Some claim it to be a product of superstition, some say it was a mental aliment, and the authorities are still unsettled. Standing in 21st century, I will have to brush off the angle of superstition. Nope, no one is getting any Moksha by killing themselves, or any fortune by performing some “water-turning-blue” rituals. And if anyone believes in this concept, he is clearly suffering from mental health issues, and needs urgent medical attention. Mental health issues have led to numerous suicides around the globe. Compiled from several sources, these are the countries experiencing the maximum number of suicide worldwide. Note: Images are only for representational purpose
When we think of lavish shooting locations in Bollywood movies, lush green mountains of Switzerland or the concrete jungles of the US is what we imagine. But there are times when, to stay true to the fabric of a storyline, movies are shot in the homes of our famous celebs from B-town.
The news about Sonali Bendre being diagnosed with cancer came as a bolt from the blue to me. For an ardent follower of Bollywood since early years like me, it was a major shock, coming just months after the heartbreaking news of Sridevi’s demise. You might have heard of this as the ‘Noida double murder case’ which took place over ten years ago in May 2008, referring to the unsolved murders of a 13-year-old girl and a 45-year-old live-in domestic worker employed by her family. Amar Singh Chamkila was a popular Punjabi singer and musician, and he and his wife/singing partner, Amarjot, were killed along with two members of their band in the year 1988. Some conspiracy theories consider the Punjab police as being behind the murder for considering their lyrics vulgar, other Punjabi singers as their popularity was threatened, or an honor killing by Amarjot’s family.
We all cheered for Mary Kom as she bagged prestigious laurels for the country and showered equal – if not more – love to the bio pic made on her. While Priyanka did an amazing job essaying the athelete, I would have loved the movie a bit more had the producers cast a north eastern actor to play her part.
So the trailer of Sanju released yesterday and we have been watching it in a loop, trying to register Ranbir for at least once but all we see is Sanjay Dutt, Sunjay Dutt and some more Sanjay Dutt in every frame.

Bollywood franchises are the new ‘In’ thing these days… but after a point it would be just so much better if they stopped adding more titles to their series which are already struggling to fill uo the theatres. We get it, the original movie was mind-blowing, and the next one did moderately well too – but now please do us a favor a stop adding to the list of failures. At least these seven franchises should call it a day already.

In a heart-to-heart with The Hindustan Times, Sridevi had denied the rumors of plastic surgeries and beauty treatments. “No, I haven’t. I want to tell these people that instead of whining and criticizing, why don’t you move out of your comfort zone, zip your mouth and slog it out? Then let’s talk! There will be a visible change not just in your appearance, but also in your attitude. But if you’re a lazy bum, hooked to TV, and cannot give up your food because you know you can undergo cosmetic surgery, you’re damned! It doesn’t work like that. Anything that is plastic melts in no time. ...

I had yet to reach teenage, when the song “Ankhon mein Tera hi chehra” hit the music channels. Won’t be an exaggeration if I said, the super cute boy at the receiving end of unrequited love peddled me into puberty. The boy grew up to be one hell of a babe in Ishq Vishq, and I couldn’t take my eyes off him in Padmaavat. Someone very wise once said, all that glitters, is not gold. True to every syllable, we say, as far as Bollywood is concerned. All the glamour and glitz you see shining on the glossy magazines, in most cases, are a sham – a sham used to cover up the dullness and gloom beneath.
Rajkummar Rao and Patralekha, who have been seeing each other since five now, make for a perfect union between Bollywood’s two of the most promising actors of this generation.

Personal hygiene and good health go hand in hand, and it is imperative for every parent to ensure that their children, who are more inclined to fall ill than adults as they come in close contact with easily transmitted germs, imbibe healthy and clean habits.
Indians can be bickering and quarreling with each other round the year – but nobody should test their patriotism when an external enemy hovers around India’s borders. You challenge us, good neighbors, and trust us, we are not South Indians, North Indians, East or West Indians. We abandon all these directional prefixes from our identity and become Indians – at least during such times. We are also a nation driven and motivated largely by our movies –and so, from time to time, our favorite stars occupy the silver screen donning the Olive Pride.
