The Ajay Devgn, Saif Ali Khan and Kajol starrer Tanhaji is being appreciated as it held well on second Minday while Deepika Padukone starrer Chhapaak crashed at the box office.

Tanhaji The Unsung Warrior opened to a very good response and minted a solid figure of Rs 61.75 crore ( Friday – Rs 15.10 crore, Saturday-Rs 20.57 crore and Sunday – Rs 26.08 crore) in first weekend. Tanhaji was superb in its first week as it received the favorable reviews from the audience as per BookMyShow which helped the film earn the first week collections with Rs 118.91 crore.
Since there are no major Bollywood releases last week, Tanhaji remained the first choice of the movie goers, collecting an astounding Rs 10.06 crore on second Friday. The Om Raut directed film grew to a strong Rs 16.36 crore on second Saturday followed by an eye popping Rs 22.12 crore on Sunday. As per early estimates, the earnings on Monday held well as compared to Friday with Rs 7-8 crore, summing the total to a massive Rs 172-172.50 crore. The budget of Tanhaji is Rs 125 crore (Production Cost: 110 Crore and Prints & Advertising Cost: 15 Crore) from 3880 screens across India
Tanhaji The Unsung Warrior tells the story of Tanhaji Malusare who was a military leader in the Maratha Empire and has fought alongside Maratha leader Shivaji Maharaj in various battles throughout the years. Tanhaji Malusare is popular for his role in the Battle of Sinhagad and is played by Ajay Devgn.
Chhapaak remained low in its first week. The earnings dropped heavily after a big holiday, consolidating the first week total on a disappointing note with just Rs 28.38 crore.
In the absence of any major releases, Chhapaak could not perform and dropped heavily on second Friday with Rs 1.10 crore. However, there was some growth on second Saturday with Rs 1.40 crore and Rs 1.75 crore. As per early trade estimates, the social drama crashed with Rs 50 lakhs, bringing the total 11 days collections to Rs 33-33.50 crore.
The budget of Chhapaak is Rs 45 crore ( Production Cost: 35 Crore , Prints & Advertising Cost: 10 Crore) and has been released in 1700 screens across India and looks like the social drama will not be able to cross it.
