Due to the partial holiday in few parts of India, Ajay Devgn’s Taanhaji grew by a good margin but Deepika Padukone’s Chhapaak remained almost flat at the box office on the day four.

Tanhaji The Unsung Warrior had a fabulous first weekend collecting an electrifying figure of Rs 61.75 crore ( Friday – Rs 15.10 crore, Saturday-Rs 20.57 crore and Sunday – Rs 26.08 crore)
While the first Monday of Tanhaji (touched Rs 13.75 crore) was simply mind-blowing, the favorable reviews of the historical drama from the audience as per BookMyShow helped the collections picked up on the Tuesday with Rs 16.75 crore as per early estimates. After 5 days, Tanhaji should collect some where between Rs 92.50-93 crore,. The budget of Tanhaji is Rs 125 crore (Production Cost: 110 Crore and Prints & Advertising Cost: 15 Crore) and has been released in 3880 screens across India
Tanhaji The Unsung Warrior tells the story of Tanhaji Malusare who was a military leader in the Maratha Empire and has fought alongside Maratha leader Shivaji Maharaj in various battles throughout the years. Tanhaji Malusare is popular for his role in the Battle of Sinhagad and is played by Ajay Devgn.
Chhapaak is not working even after solid promotions, stint performed by Deepika Padukone at JNU which has created huge controversy around the film and first time collaboration between Meghna Gulzar and Deepika.
Chhapaak received decent reviews as per BookMyShow.com which has led to an opening of just Rs 4.77 crore. There was slight growth on Saturday and Sunday with Rs 6.90 crore and Rs 7.35 crore, bringing the first weekend collections to Rs 19.02 crore.
However, the social-drama dropped heavily on Monday and collected somewhere between Rs 2.35 crore, As per early estimates, Chhapaak remained flat on Tuesday even though there was partial holiday in few parts of India, collecting Rs 2.65 crore. As of now, the total 5 days collections is Rs 24-24.50 crore which is below expectations considering the controversy, star power of Deepika Padukone who is collaborating with Meghna Gulzar (Filhaal, Talwar and Raazi) for the first time. The collections is expected to grow on Wednesday as there is a holiday due to Makarsankrati, Lohiri and Pongal.
The budget of Chhapaak is Rs 45 crore ( Production Cost: 35 Crore , Prints & Advertising Cost: 10 Crore) and has been released in 1700 screens across India.
