Haasil marks Zayed Khan's debut in television

Main Hoon Na actor Zayed Khan is all set to make his television debut with Sony Entertainment Television’s Haasil. Produced by Siddharth P Malhotra under his banner Alchemy Productions, the romantic thriller will go on air on 30th October. Vatsal Seth will play Zayed Khan’s brother while Nikita Dutta will play both the brothers’ love interest in the finite series. The star cast held a press conference of the show and our correspondent Anusha Iyengar shares few revelations that Zayed made at the event –

Zayed on why he chose television

Siddharth (Producer and Director of Haasil) very kindly called me and asked if I can help with a screen test of a girl. But I didn’t know it was for me. But I’m glad it happened. I like that Sony is taking the risk of trying new concepts and shows. I’m happy to be here and I’m glad that I was convinced through a screen test.

Zayed on shooting for TV

Honestly everyone says working for films is a holiday right now. But that’s not the case for TV. But the truth is as difficult as it was it sharpened my skills. I learnt new skills I didn’t have before. I have a great presence of mind. Haasil is a location based shoot and it was very difficult to get quality work and clock 15 mins per day but when we saw the result, it was worth it. So here’s to television, my Karambhoomi.

On what are his expectations from television

Let the episode air and fir dekhenge kya kya Haasil hota hai (Let’s see what do I manage to achieve).

On whether he discussed his TV debut with his Dad

He asked what the script is and who the director is and which channel it will air on. Very relevant questions. And I told him everything. He gave me an approval.

Zayed on his perception of TV

The most important thing for TV is discipline and punctuality.
