'Very sexy': Tennis umpire suspended over 'indecent' remarks to ball girl

A male tennis umpire has been suspended after being caught making inappropriate remarks to a young ball girl.

Chair umpire Gianluca Moscarella made the "indecent" comments during an ATP Challenger Tour match in Florence last week.

Footage of the incident has been circulating on social media, where Moscarella can be clearly heard chatting to the young girl.

The Italian official is heard referring to the school student as "very sexy" before asking "are you hot... physically or emotionally?"

The disgusting scenes took place during a match between Pedro Sousa and Enrico Dalla Valle.

The Italian umpire was also accused of instructing one of the players to "stay focused" while his opponent left the court for a toilet break.

In a statement from the ATP, the governing body for men's tennis confirmed the umpire had been suspended while an investigation was being carried out over the incident.
