Vijay's Mersal is expcted to have a wide release

Thalapathy Vijay‘s Mersal is all set to release in six days! The excitement around the film is at its peak but beneath all that buzz, there is a cause for concern. In response to the double taxation levied by the government, The Taiml Film Producer Council hasn’t allowed the release of New Tamil films since October 6th. However, strike or not, the makers of Mersal are going all out to make this a grand release. As per reports on News X, the film is set to be screened in 3292 screens worldwide, thus making it one of the biggest Tamil releases. In fact Mersal has managed to beat Ajith Kumar’s Vivegam screen count that reportedly released in 3250 screens. That’s one record Vijay has raced ahead of Thala even before Mersal’s release. Whilst the screen count on the home turf (Tamil Nadu) is uncertain owing to the strike, it’s being released in a record number of screens elsewhere. As per the same report, 350 screens in Kerala have been allotted to Mersal, while in Malaysia, a whopping 800 screens.  Also Read: Mersal Promo 2: Thalapathy Vijay’s easy breezy chemistry with Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Kajal Aggarwal is a delight to watch

No doubt, Mersal is one of the most anticipated films of this year. The actor will be seen in three different avatars – that of a chieftain, magician and a doctor, set in three different time periods. He will also be romancing three different leading ladies – Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Kajal Aggarwal and Nithya Menen. The movie marks Vijay and Atlee second collaboration, the last time they teamed up, Vijay delivered one of his biggest hits – Theri. That explains why fans are expecting a lot from Mersal.

So far, Mersal has garnered a huge buzz thanks to its posters and promos! Mersal’s music composed by AR Rahman has also been given a major thumbs up. Mersal also happens to be Sri Thenandal Film’s 100th project. Here’s hoping the Tamil Nadu’s double taxation issue gets resolved and the film opens to a bumper opening this festive season. So far advance bookings have begun only in Bengaluru.
