After a good first weekend, the Taapsee Pannu starrer Thappad held well on Monday at the box office.
Directed by Anubhav Sinha, Taapsee Pannu starrer Thappad has impressed the audience with powerful performances, strong content and well-intentioned message.
Despite facing the previous week’s releases – Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan and Vicky Kaushal starrer Bhoot. Thappad managed to open on a decent note. The drama impressed both critics and audience as per BookMyShow.com
Welcomed with excellent reviews, Thappad has opened to an occupancy of 10-15% in the morning shows across India and picked up in the evening and night shows based on the favourable reviews, minted Rs 3.07 crore on first day. The drama grew to a solid number with Rs 5.05 crore in Saturday, followed by Rs 6.54 crores on Sunday.
Directed by Anubhav Sinha who earlier made powerful dramas like Mulk and Article 15, Thappad held well on its first Monday to somewhere between Rs 2.30-2.50 crores, bringing the four days total to Rs 16.50-17 crore. Thappad is made on a budget of Rs 35 crore (Production cost is Rs 25 crore, Printing and Advertisement- Rs 10 crore) and has been released in 2000 screens across India.
