SUVs have been a favourite with Indian movie stars, owing to their stance, comfort and road presence. Since movie stars lead busy lives, their main priority is comfort and luxury, and this explains why some of them are moving over to luxury MPVs.
Superstars Amitabh Bachchan and Mohanlal are both SUV owners. ‘Big B’ owns many of them, such as the Lexus LX, Range Rover and Mercedes. The Malayalam actor Mohanlal has a penchant for Toyotas, with the massive Land Cruiser being a part of his fleet.
However, while Amitabh added a Mercedes V-Class to his collection last year, Mohanlal has just purchased the new Toyota Vellfire. Let us take a look at these two massive MPVs.
Both the V-Class and the Vellfire are luxury MPVs with price tags to match. The V-Class in its top-trim is above Rs 80 lakh. Recently Mercedes launched an even more luxurious 'home on wheels' version of the V-Class, which is priced at over Rs 1 crore.
The unique thing about the V-Class is that the second row seats can be rotated 180 degrees. There are tables and features galore, with huge levels of space.
The Toyota does not have the rotating seats feature, but it focuses on the luxury aspect with two massive La-Z-Boy-like chairs with separate controls. Like the V-Class, the Vellfire too is huge, and one can literally stretch out after a long day. The Vellfire is priced at Rs 80 lakh.
There are many options to choose from. Even the standard equipment is generous and both MPVs get rear entertainment systems with a plethora of technology on-board. There is no doubt that both these cinematic superstars have great taste in cars and in terms of luxury and comfort, it just doesn’t get better that the V-Class and the Vellfire.
