Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan starrer Thugs Of Hindostan has failed to do well at the box office in the domestic market!
It was a Diwali release and hence there were high expectations from Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan starrer Thugs Of Hindostan. It also stars Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh. However, the film failed to do well at the box office in the domestic market. And as a result of this, the makers have reportedly lost out on a big deal.
TOH was supposed to release in China in December this year. According to a source of Bollywood Hungama, the release has now been pushed to January, next year. On the top of all, the Chinese Distributors have reportedly scrapped the Rs 110 crore minimum guarantee deal with the makers of the film.
The source said, “Estars Films had entered into an understanding with Yash Raj Films on a Rs. 110 cr minimum guarantee, but looking at the performance of Thugs of Hindostan at the domestic box office despite the massive promotions and the wide screen count, they have decided to rework the deal.”
The source added on saying, “Under the new deal that is being worked Estars is looking at entering into a revenue sharing deal with Yash Raj Films, while foregoing the predefined MG format. Currently, the poor performance and negative reviews the film received in India and overseas is being cited as the main reason.”
However, another source denied all such developments saying that the deal was signed even before the film’s release and that no such changes have been made.
