After opening on a good note on the day one of its release, Akshay Kumar‘s latest film has seen a huge growth on its second day. The film has collected Rs 17.10 crore, taking its two day total to Rs 30.20 crore. And with Toilet – Ek Prem Katha, the golden run of Akshay Kumar at the box office continues. The film is all set to enter Rs 100 crore club and will be Akshay Kumar’s fifth consecutive Rs 100 crore hit. With this hit, Bollywood too will have a sigh of relief as none of the film really worked at the box office since the debacle of Salman Khan’s Tubelight. In fact, the industry had its hope pinned on Shah Rukh Khan’s Jab Harry Met Sejal but even that film turned out to be colossal disappointment. So it was the banker of Bollywood who came to its rescue and, sort of, saved the industry.

According to Akshay Kumar, Toilet – Ek Prem Katha is a low budget film made on a meagre Rs 18 crore, so it’s already a profitable venture in just two days of its release. Now it is to be seen, how well it sustains on its first Monday, which is a working day as Tuesday again will see a huge growth due to National holiday in Independence Day. Despite receiving mixed to positive reviews from the film critics, the film really resonated with the movie going audience and they have lapped it up big time. Also, it’s probably after Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, that a film is universally appealing.

Now that the film has seen such a growth on its second day, the third day will also see a growth but not of such epic proportions. Also read: Toilet – Ek Prem Katha box office collection day 1: Akshay Kumar starrer fails to beat Shah Rukh Khan’s Jab Harry Met Sejal
