An adorable picture put up by American Singer Pink, where she and her children are seen enjoying a day out with a pelican, went horribly wrong after trolls started to target them. Pointing out to the fact that her son was not wearing a diaper, trolls even slammed the singer for circumcising her son. Pink, who is a regular on Instagram and often posts her family pictures, hit back at them, “’There’s something seriously wrong with a lot of you out there. Going off about my baby’s penis? About circumcision??? Are you for real? As any normal mother at the beach, I didn’t even notice he took off his swim diaper.” Pink then deleted the photo and reposted another one with a black marker over the part which showed her son’s private parts.
Pictures of celebrities and their families garner much attention. While many followers and fans shower their love and blessings on them, there are hate-inducing trolls who have nothing pleasant to say on any post or picture they come across on social media. Celebrity children also often make easy targets as their parents are constantly under the limelight.
We take a look at all the times that celebrity children were subject to trolling in India:
The light is beautiful, but my daughter outshines everything!
Happy 2019 and I’m sure your daughters are all precious to you. pic.twitter.com/UrRp3nNram

Nysa Devgn: Ajay Devgn’s and Kajol’s daughter has often been at the receiving end of much online abuse. Nysa has been body shamed and called out for her looks time and again on Instagram and Twitter. Nysa was recently heavily trolled for an airport look where she was wearing a hoodie dress which revealed her legs. Trolls took this as an open invitation to criticise her and pass lewd comments. Upset with all the negativity, Ajay Devgn asked people to target Kajol and him but to leave their daughter alone. “She is just a 14-year-old and I feel, at times, people forget that and talk rubbish. She was wearing such a long shirt and she was also wearing shorts. Now because of the length of the shirt, her shorts weren’t visible and the kid got trolled for that,” he pointed out in an interview.
Aradhya Bachchan: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan’s little daughter is a regularly papped kid. And much like her uber-famous mother, Aradhya Bachchan has also been the subject of internet hatred. Trolls have accused Aishwarya of being over-protective, taking her everywhere she goes and not allowing her to have a normal childhood. A troll even asked whether they planned to make her a ‘beauty without brains.’ A photograph which Aishwarya had posted on Mother’s Day where she is seen kissing her daughter, was also heavily criticised with some saying that they felt that kissing a 6-year-old child on the lips was weird.
Not one to take things lying down, Abhishek Bachchan has lashed out heavily at trolls. When someone poked fun of Abhishek by hinting that Aradhya would never watch certain movies which her father starred in like Drona and Jhoom Barabar Jhoom. He wrote, “@Mayankaryan084 you feeling better about yourself now??? Good! Glad to have been of service. Now go back to the hole you crawled out of.” He had also made it clear that bringing his daughter into conversations was not cool.
Ahil Sharma: While Arpita Khan has regularly been body shamed and trolled over marrying Aayush Sharma, their son and Salman Khan’s favourite nephew, Ahil Sharma, has not been spared, either. After Arpita posted a picture of Ahil at grandad Salim Khan’s birthday, a troll pointed out that the child looked as If he had polio. Arpita, however, was quick to retort, “Guys you all are disgusting. At least spare children in negative comments.”

Taimur Ali Khan: He may be media’s favourite baby, but trolls have had a go at the two-year-old son of Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan, as well. In fact, the little one became subject to hatred right from when his name was announced and it got likened to that of the Mongol conqueror, Timur. The trolling got so bad that Saif even admitted that he had considered changing his name, but then that would have been giving in to the trolls.
More recently, at Arbaaz Khan’s chatshow, called Pinch, a troll had said that Taimur looked like he was dying of hunger. In her classic witty style, though, Kareena had a brilliant come back – “But woh bechara bhooka nai marra hai. In fact, I think kuch zaada hi kha raha hai aajkal. Mota lag raha hai (He is not starving. In fact, I think he is eating a little too much. He is looking fat).”
Sara Tendulkar: Sachin’s daughter Sara Tendulkar was a victim of online abuse, even when she was not on Twitter. Someone had created a fake twitter account under the name @SaraSachin_rt and had posted, “Everyone knows that Sharad Pawar NCP looted Maharashtra state but little known that he tried centre too (sic).” After Sara was targeted by trolls, Sachin Tendulkar clarified that neither his daughter Sara nor his son, Arjun, were on Twitter.
Suhana Khan: Shah Rukh Khan’s and Gauri’s daughter is officially an adult now, and has also had her cover debut moment when she featured in Vogue’s August 2018 issue. Suhana Khan has also been brutally targetted by trolls, regularly. From her style of dressing to her looks, to how she is not a good Muslim and does not respect Indian culture, trolls have moral policed her often. A picture of her wearing a bikini had received much negative attention.
While father Shah Rukh Khan has accepted that it is a part of being his kids, Suhana has been vocal about how it upsets her. Speaking to Vogue, the star kid had said, “At home, things are normal and everything is cool, but the challenges are outside. I still find it hard because people feel like they can judge you. Especially on social media… Pictures from my private Instagram account get leaked. There are so many people talking about you. They don’t know you, and they don’t know what they’re talking about, but they’re just talking. And that can mess with your self-confidence.”
Khushi Kapoor: The late Sridevi’s and Boney Kapoor’s younger daughter, Khushi Kapoor, is already a fashionista, and that has made her the subject of much trolling. When the teenager wore a shimmery silver Falguni & Shane Peacock dress with cuts at the waist, for an engagement party, trolls slammed her for trying too hard to fit into Bollywood, while one troll even commented about how she would never have been allowed to dress like this had Sridevi still been alive.
AbRam: While Shah Rukh Khan has brought his children up in a multi-religious setup, some followers have had issues with it. After he posted pictures of AbRam praying to Ganpati ‘Pappa’ during Ganesh Chaturthi, trolls questioned his religious beliefs and the ‘sinful act of praising an idol other than Allah…’ On his part, Shah Rukh Khan had a brilliant answer to this. He said that he wanted his children to grow up loving and respecting all religions. “My parents introduced me to everything. It was a refugee colony where I lived. So my parents used to be equally happy if I used to go to Ramleela or for Eid celebrations. That way, you learn and respect and love each other because you learn each other’s religion on your own. So, I hope my children do the same. My memories and my thinking is this for them,” he said.
