Twitter Explodes As Barcelona Enters Super Cup Final After They Beat Real Sociedad On Penalties

Barcelona faced off with Real Sociedad for the Spanish Super Cup on Thursday. After the standard 90 minutes couldn’t find the winner of the fixture, the match into a shootout. Barcelona beat Real Sociedad in the shootouts by 3-2.

Lionel Messi missed out on the fixture against Real Sociedad, Barcelona wanted to take precaution as the Blaugrana skipper picked up a niggle in the club’s previous match.

Frenkie de Jong broke the deadlock just before the first half and put Barcelona into the driver’s seat. In the 51st minute, Mikel Oyarzabal levelled the scores with the visitors. The match ended in a stalemate, as no clear winner emerged from the 90 minutes of the game. In the penalty shootouts, Barcelona scored three goals while Real Sociedad ended up with only two goals.
