Twitter Reacts As Kane Williamson Hits A Double Ton, Goes Past 7000 Runs In Test Cricket

The New Zealand skipper showed the world why he is regarded as one of the best batsmen of modern-day cricket. Kane Williamson has been batting extremely well against Pakistan in the current Test series. The captain managed to score a double century and also went past 7000 runs in the longest format of the game. Williamson became only the third player from New Zealand to cross 7000 runs in Test cricket.

After his prolific double century in the second Test, the right-handed batsman has 7115 runs to his name only behind former captain Stephen Fleming (7172) and Ross Taylor (7379). The 30-year-old also surpassed Fleming in the most 50 plus scores in Test cricket. The veteran southpaw has 55 fifty-plus scores while Williamson scored his 56th fifty-plus score in the on-going bilateral series. Williamson has 890 points to his name in the ICC Test rankings which helped New Zealand skipper to hold the number one spot in the Test rankings for batsmen.

In the first innings, Pakistan scored 297 runs, in reply the Kiwis declared their innings at 659 at the loss of six wickets with an amazing 238 from the captain himself.
