Vandana Sajnani Khattar had endured a lot of pain to embrace motherhood in her 40s. To welcome a child into her life wasn’t an easy path for her as she had to cross many hurdles to attain motherhood. After 3 miscarriages, 3 IVFs, 3 IUIs and 3 surrogacy failures, Vandana and her husband, Rajesh Khattar were blessed with a baby boy. The happiness had struck the couple after 11 years of marriage and lots of hardship. However this wasn’t enough as just when happiness was ready to knock on their door, Vandana had to deal with a wrong C-section delivery.
Vandana and Rajesh Khattar had welcomed a little bundle of joy, Yuvaan Vanraj Khattar into their lives on June 18, 2019, and after three months in NICU, had brought their baby home on August 24, 2019. Vandana had announced the birth of her son and how they had not given up for 11 years to become parents. She had written, “Never gave up for 11 years! Tried every science under the Sun ... and finally, the universe heard me ... #Faith can move mountains! For all women n couples, You can read my story online ... #Google #Timesofindia ... Pls #Keepthefaith.. After all the struggles and hardships that #God tests you with, remember he loves you. Welcome baby #VanrajKhattar ... Our little #Krishna Thank you for all your wishes and prayers. #Miracle #Yuvaankhattar @yuvaankhattar.” For the unversed, Vandana is the stepmother of Ishaan Khatter, who is the son of Rajesh Khattar and Neliima Azeem.
It wasn’t easy for Vandana to bring in a child into her world as all her attempts were failing. She had tried it all to become a mother. Taking to her IG handle, Vandana shared a then-and-now picture and talked about her struggle for pregnancy. She shared that her C-section delivery had gone wrong and she had to get it done again. She wrote, “Looking at a #THROWBACK picture of myself having that perfect shape sure comes with its mixed bag of emotions. As you get older and go through all the different experiences that life throws at you, your body does not remain the same. With hormonal imbalances time and again due to my multiple IVF cycles that led to immense weight gain, many miscarriages, entire pregnancy bedridden with no activity, a C section surgery gone drastically wrong which had to be done again.”
Vandana then shared that she fell into postpartum depression but now she is grateful to her body for enduring so much. She concluded, “Then the postpartum depression and above all crazy amount of medication and injections inside my system, my body has changed. It’s difficult to go back to that perfect figure but I have realised that my current body is my badge of honour and is a testament to the fact that I am a warrior and a fighter. How many can even go through Half of what I did?.. I have overcome humongous hurdles and I am proud that I have emerged stronger. Thank god I am off medicines now and in a happy place. In the end what matters most is that you are fit physically and mentally, size really does not matter. Don’t let it drag you down, but remember you can always work on it! That’s the best part.”
For Vandana and Rajesh, welcoming a baby boy was one of the happiest news of their lives, however, there were people, who had trolled the couple brutally for their decision of embracing parenthood at such an age. In a conversation with Bollywood Bubble, Vandana Sajnani Khattar had shared her trolling experience. Recalling how people had judged them and passed nasty remarks, Vandana had shared, “I started seeing a lot of troll messages. People writing, ‘Bohot chul hai. Dada, Dadi Bache ke saath ghum rahe hain. Umar toh dekhi hai kya, Dadaji bache ko lekar ghum rahe.’”
Vandana is indeed a super mom, who has been inspiring others as well with her journey towards motherhood!
