Vidyut Jammwal will be seen never-seen before, death defying stunts in the film
Vidyut Jammwal made his debut in films with the Telugu film ‘Shakti’ (2011) and followed it up with his Hindi debut in ‘Force’ (2011) the same year. In his subsequent films, in different languages, he was seen in negative roles. ‘Commando’ (2013) marked his foray into films as a leading man. The film, in which he was seen as an army officer, managed to establish Vidyut as a bonafide action hero. Though the film was a moderate success at the box-office, it did very well on satellite. The next film in the franchise ‘Commando 2’ had a similar fate – average returns at the box-office but excellent response on television.
Perhaps, the way these films are received on television gives its makers the confidence to take the franchise ahead. ‘Commando’ was directed by Dilip Ghosh, ‘Commando 2’ was helmed by Deven Bhojani and ‘Commando 3’ has been directed by Aditya Datt who has films like ‘Aashiq Banaya Aapne’ and ‘Table No. 21’ to his credit. While the first film in the franchise was primarily set in India, the second film was largely shot abroad. A large part of ‘Commando 3’, too, has been shot in London.
Says a source, “The scale of ‘Commando 2’ was much bigger than ‘Commando’, thus the team had to make sure that with ‘Commando 3’ they go a step ahead in every department including action. While Vidyut has amazed the audience earlier with his action skills, there are plenty of sequences in the film which will take the audience by complete surprise. If you think Vidyut has done it all, he will surprise you all over again with this film.”
This is Vidyut’s second release this year after ‘Junglee’. After ‘Commando 3’, the actor will be seen in Mahesh Manjrekar’s ‘Power’ and Faruk Kabir’s ‘Khuda Haafiz’.
