The Visitors To Get Only 3 Days To Practice Ahead Of First Test Against India

The England players in Sri Lanka will only get three days to prepare for the first Test match against India. According to a report in the Telegraph, the English players who are playing a Test series in Sri Lanka will arrive in Chennai on Wednesday. The players will be following the six-day quarantine protocol due to which they can only start the training on February 2, just three days before the first Test.


The England team will get tested for the COVID-19 thrice in six days while being in quarantine. Joe Root and his men are currently playing the second Test match in Galle.

Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer who didn’t participate in the Sri Lankan tour have already landed in India. The English players are currently residing at Hotel Leela Palace in Chennai and will get five days of training as they will be finishing their quarantine protocols early.


India will host England for 4 Tests, 3 ODIs and 5 T20Is. The bilateral series will commence from February 5. The first two Test matches will be played in Chennai, it has been confirmed by Tamil Nadu Cricket Association secretary RS Ramasaamy that the first two games will be played behind closed doors. The final two Test matches will be played in Ahmedabad.

The two teams have already announced their squad for the two matches. This bilateral series against England will be the first international series in India since March 2020.
