Finally after 12 days, the Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff starrer WAR showed a drop at the ticket window but kept the overall collections intact.
WAR, is breaking the record in the domestic market with an outstanding result. While it faced Farhan Akhtar and Priyanka Chopra starrer The Sky Is Pink, on the second Saturday, the action-drama grew by an eye-popping 70% and minted an amazing Rs 11.20 crore. The earnings went up again on Sunday with Rs 13.20 crore, becoming the highest grossing film of Hrithik Roshan beating Krrish 3, which collected Rs 244.93 crore in its lifetime at the box office. WAR is also the 2nd highest grossing film of 2019 beating URI-The Surgical Strike (Rs 245.36 crore)
As per early estimates, WAR dropped on second Monday by another 30-40% and collected somewhere between Rs 4-5 crore as compared to Friday, bringing the 13 days collections to Rs 275-276 crore(including all versions) and should beat the Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani starrer Kabir Singh (Rs 278 crore approx) by this week to become the highest grossing film of 2019. In the overseas market, WAR is already creating dhamaal and has minted $9.09 Million or Rs 64.67 Crore gross till now. Out of this, the action drama has collected $3.2 million alone in North America and is now the highest grossing film of Hrithik Roshan beating Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Bang Bang, Super 30, Jodha Akbar, Krissh 3 and Agneepath.The world wide gross of WAR is now Rs 377+ crore and should be joining the 400 crore club soon.
The budget of WAR is Rs 200 Crore (Production Cost: 180 Crore, Prints & Advertising Cost: 20 Crore). The action film is directed by Siddarth Anand and is produced by Aditya Chopra under the banner of Yash Raj Films.
