The Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff starrer WAR broke another record as it surpassed the lifetime collections of Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani starrer Kabir Singh to become the highest grossing film of 2019.
WAR, is breaking record left and right as it refuses to slow down at the box office. While it faced Farhan Akhtar and Priyanka Chopra starrer The Sky Is Pink, the action-drama collected Rs 7.10 crore on second Friday and grew by an eye-popping 70% and minted an amazing Rs 11.20 crore on second Saturday. The earnings went up again on Sunday with Rs 13.20 crore, becoming the highest grossing film of Hrithik Roshan beating Krrish 3, which collected Rs 244.93 crore in its lifetime at the box office. WAR is also the 2nd highest grossing film of 2019 beating URI-The Surgical Strike (Rs 245.36 crore). The earnings dropped on second Monday with Rs 4.40 crore.
As per early estimates, WAR held well on second Tuesday by another 10-20% and collected Rs 4 crore as compared to Monday, bringing the 14 days collections to somewhere between Rs 280-281 crore(including all versions) and crossed the lifetime collection of the Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani starrer Kabir Singh (Rs 278.24 crore approx) by this week to become the highest grossing film of 2019.
The budget of WAR is Rs 200 Crore (Production Cost: 180 Crore, Prints & Advertising Cost: 20 Crore). The action film is directed by Siddarth Anand and is produced by Aditya Chopra under the banner of Yash Raj Films.
