After becoming the highest grossing film of 2019, Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff starrer WAR broke another record yesterday when it surpassed the lifetime collections of Aamir Khan starrer Dhoom 3 to become the 9 highest grossing film of 2019.
WAR, is breaking record left and right as it refuses to slow down at the box office. While it faced Farhan Akhtar and Priyanka Chopra starrer The Sky Is Pink, the action-drama collected Rs 7.10 crore on second Friday and grew by an eye-popping 70% and minted an amazing Rs 11.20 crore on second Saturday. The earnings went up again on Sunday with Rs 13.20 crore while it dropped on Monday with Rs 4.40 crore. The collections were stable on Tuesday with Rs 3.90 crore. WAR is now the highest grossing film of Hrithik Roshan beating Krrish 3, which collected Rs 244.93 crore in its lifetime at the box office. WAR is also the highest grossing film of 2019 beating URI-The Surgical Strike (Rs 245.36 crore) and Kabir Singh (Rs 278.24 crore).
As per early estimates, WAR held well on second Wednesday by another 10-20% and collected Rs 3.50 crore as compared to Tuesday, bringing the 15 days collections to somewhere between Rs 285-286 crore(including all versions) and crossed the lifetime collection of the Aamir Khan starrer Dhoom 3 (Rs 284.27 crore approx) to become the 9th highest grossing film of all time.
The budget of WAR is Rs 200 Crore (Production Cost: 180 Crore, Prints & Advertising Cost: 20 Crore). The action film is directed by Siddarth Anand and is produced by Aditya Chopra under the banner of Yash Raj Films.
