When you have two of the best action stars coming together for the first time, you expect nothing but some sparks and fireworks. After watching WAR, you will believe this statement as Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff will explode the screen with their never-seen-before-attitude, brilliant stunts and electrifying chemistry.
WAR tells the story of Kabir (Hrithik Roshan) who is gone rogue and is on verge of hunting down crucial people and the only person to stop him is Khalid (Tiger Shroff).
While Hrithik Roshan made a good comeback with Super 30 this year, Tiger Shroff failed with Student Of The Year 2. After watching WAR, not only the dedicated and loyal fans will enjoy their favourite actors kicking some ass with death defying stunt scenes but even others will fall in love with them, thanks to their wonderful chemistry.
From the director of lovely Salaam Namaste, average Ta Ra Rum Pum, poor Anjana Anjaani and decent Bang Bang, Siddharth Anand makes a solid comeback with WAR. The 154 minutes long film will keep you engaged right from the beginning till the end. The first half boast off some excellent scenes – The opening scene of Hrithik Roshan and a mind-blowing entry fight scene of Tiger Shroff, the combat scene at Syria where Hrithik and Tiger fight the tough guy followed by the dance number in Jai Jai Shivshankar.
While first half was electrifying, second half takes time to settle. Be ready for an unexpected twist which is interesting. While the movie is crispy and entertainment, it is not completely flawless. The plane scene in the first half is poor and does not explain how Hrithik enters the plane. Similarly, there is a scene towards the climax when Hrithik fights the goon and even escapes the ship which is about to bombed in just 12 seconds. Anyways, something we should consider as we are watching a Bollywood film. Technically, WAR is outstanding. Right from amazing background score by Daniel B George till enthrallling camera work by Ben Jasper, minute details have been given to the action drama. I would like to highlight the well choreographed action stunts which is massive and enjoyable. There are two songs in the film and both have been adequately composed by Vishal-Shekhar. On the flip side, editing is slightly loose.
Coming to the performances, I cannot imagine any one apart from Hrithik Roshan playing the role of Kabir. The actor breathes the character as it was tailor made for him. He is well supported by Tiger Shroff who is equally brilliant as Khalid. The actor not only emotes well with his expression but is fantabulous with his hand combats and action stunts. Vaani Kapoor is wasted in small role while Ashutosh Rana is good. The actress who played the role of Aditi was fine.
Overall, if you are in need for some kick-ass action film, WAR is the right dose for you. Go for it 4/5
