The Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff starrer WAR is not just doing an outstanding at the domestic box office but is electrifying at the overseas box office as well.

WAR, broke the record on Gandhi Jayanti holiday when it took a thunderous opening from 4200 screens across India and collected Rs 53.35 crore on its first day surpassing the previous record held by the Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan and Katrina Kaif starrer Thugs Of Hindostan, which holds the record for the highest opening day collection ever in Bollywood with Rs 52.25 crore (all version). The opening day collections of WAR became the highest opening day collection of 2019 beating the Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer Bharat, which collected Rs 41.80 crore on its first day. Due to the normal working day, WAR dropped on the second day but still minted a staggering amount of Rs 24.35 crore. The hardcore action film remained stable on Friday and collected Rs 22.45 crore while it shot up on Saturday and Sunday with a mind-blowing figure of Rs 27.60 crore and Rs 37.40 in all versions, bringing the 5 days extended weekend to an eye-popping Rs 166.25 crore.

The first Monday was an acid test for WAR as it was first working day after a 5 days extended weekend and as per early trade estimates, WAR showed strong legs at the ticket window. The action drama starring Hrithik Roshan, Tiger Shroff and Vaani Kapoor dropped by 5-10% as compared to Friday and collected somewhere between Rs 21-22 crore, becoming the one of the highest Monday collections of all time and definitely the highest Monday of 2019, bringing the 6 days total to Rs 187-189 crore. WAR is already the 5th highest grossing film of 2019 beating Dream Girl (Rs 133 crore), Gully Boy (Rs 138 crore), Super 30 (Rs 147.35 crore), Chhichhore (Rs 148 crore), Saaho (Rs 151 crore), Total Dhamaal (Rs 155 crore) and Kesari (Rs (155.60 crore). Tuesday being a national holiday for Dusshera, WAR will score the big number at the box office.

WAR has done a fabulous business in the International market as the action flick touched the 50 crore net. WAR featured in the number 9 position of US Top 10 as per BoxOfficeMojo.com, collecting a very good $2.114 million. It scored the best in UAE GCC with $2.71 million followed by UK with $432K and $1.785 million from the rest of the world, bringing the total to $7.04 million and should be able to beat Bharat ($10.7 million) and Gully Boy ($10 million) to become the highest overseas grosser of 2019. WAR should also be able to defeat the highest Hrithik Roshan grosser Overseas which is Bang Bang ($12.75 million) and already defeated highest Tiger Shroff grosser Baaghi 2 ($7 million). The total worldwide grosser of WAR is Rs 240-250 crore.


The budget of WAR is Rs 200 Crore (Production Cost: 180 Crore, Prints & Advertising Cost: 20 Crore) and will be crossed by today at the domestic market. The action film is directed by Siddarth Anand and is produced by Aditya Chopra under the banner of Yash Raj Films.
