Imagine if there was a tool in your life that could repair all of the damage done or mistakes made.

Well, there is! Because that, in essence, is what a wood marker does for furniture.

You take the supply to any mark, scratch, hole, scuff, etc. and color it in. (It’s basically the adult version of a coloring book.) Then voilà, the mistake is gone and you’re back to living your life, no longer being taunted by a scuffed chair.

One brand of wood markers in particular is getting tons of love from Amazon shoppers. Furniture Repair Kit Wood Markers come in a set of 13 helpful tools —including six repair markers and six wax sticks that are meant to match the color of different woods likely to be around your house — and costs just $10.

And while it might seem weird coloring in furniture, more than 1,500 reviews say that the quick-drying markers and wax sticks really work, filling in scratches and scuffs perfectly, without damaging the wood furniture or making it look cheap.

Coming in shades formulated to look like oak, maple, cherry, mahogany, walnut and black woods and finishes, the markers and wax sticks work together to fill in and cover up any signs of damage, while precisely blending in.

And shoppers say that the tools don’t just work well on wood surfaces.

“Used this on our dining room chairs, laminate flooring and our oak end table,” one five-star reviewer wrote. “The assortment of colors is the biggest plus for this product. Where needed to help blend in each color I used WD40 on a soft cloth and a very fine steel wool. The color I selected for the wood laminate matched perfectly. The dining chairs and end table needed some blending due to the wood grain. This kit is the best I have ever used. I highly recommend it.”

While they look like a normal marker, the fanfare over the utensil seems legit.

Another happy customer said: “I can’t believe how well these work! Much better than I was expecting. I just had my home interior painted and the painters damaged a fiberboard medicine cabinet when they removed the masking tape. It ripped off the fake wood veneer. These markers completely filled in the ugly spots and the colors blended well. I love that it appears to have some clear coat in it too as it dries with a slight shine that makes it look more like wood stain rather than markers. I also used them to stain wood filler in two spots in my maple kitchen cabinets where a previous home owner had hung a paper towel holder and I really struggle to see the hole! It looks fantastic. I highly recommend this set. It’s a good value and works very well.”

Even better? They seem like a fun and entertaining way to do housework.

“I'm so very impressed with this kit! No other pens, pencils, that i have purchased have been as easy to use and so easy to match the color of the wood because of all the choices of color,” wrote a happy user who titled their post “every household needs one of these”. “When I received them, I ran around the house trying them all out on all my wood furniture as a toddler with a new toy! The price is phenomenal where I have paid $5 for one pen and crossed my fingers that the color would match. No problem here. You have all the colors in a kit to mix and match at a great price. I haven't tried the waxes yet.”
