WWE WrestleMania 2020 results: With popular sporting events taking a halt worldwide amidst the coronavirus crisis, WWE presented its fans with a unique WrestleMania event in history. The two-day event kicked off with Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross taking on The Kabuki Warriors and the action got more intense as the night progressed.

Here is what happened on Day 1 of WrestleMania 36

Goldberg vs Braun Strowman: It took Braun Strowman a couple of minutes, before he overpowered Goldberg to be crowned as the new WWE Universal Champion. The action started with Goldberg doing what he does best. Three spears in a row were not enough to prevent the Monster among Men from winning the battle.

After being struck by three consecutive spears, Strowman hit back at Goldberg by smashing the 266 pound wrestler four times in the center of the ring, which also saw him win the contest with ease.

Becky Lynch vs Shyna Baszler: Along with the Raw Women's Championship, Becky Lynch's supremacy was also on the line as she geared up to take on Shyna Baszler, arguably the toughest opponent she has ever faced.

The match kicked off with Baszler hitting Lynch with a Karifuda Clutch. However, when the action shifted to the ringside, Lynch tried to gain some momentum as he hit Baszler with a powerbomb. Lynch then followed it up with a dropkick on Baszler, before knocking her out with a series of stomps.

But Baszler as mentioned earlier made sure this wasn't a cakewalk for Lynch as she fought her way back into the contest. She hit the champion with a big knee on her face and then tried to seal the contest by locking Lynch with a dis-arm-her, the Raw Women Champion's signature move.

However, Lynch did manage her way out of the dis-arm-her but Baszler's brutality continued on the champ. She then swung Lynch by her arms, hitting the champion's head twice into the announce table.

Following the action in the ringside, Baszler tried to lock Lynch with another Karifuda Clutch. The champion this time countered the move, showing some great reflex as she rolled backward and converting it into a successful pinfall.

King Baron Corbin vs Elias: WWE's king Baron Corbin made his way to the ring, anticipating Elias was not present at the venue after being ambushed a week ago on SmackDown. As the king called out for an official to forfeit the contest and declare him the winner, the guitar started playing in the background leaving Corbin shocked.

Elias came towards the ramp and an agitated Corbin rushed towards him to start a brawl. The move by WWE's own monarch backfired as Elias knocked Corbin with his guitar.

Both the superstars then made their way into the ring and the contest officially began. Corbin dominated the proceedings and as he tried to wrap the contest, trying to use the rope as a leverage the referee noticed and intervened.

This led to an argument between Corbin and the official, which saw Elias cheekily take advantage and scoring a quick roll-up holding Corbin's tights to snatch a win.

Seth Rollins vs Kevin Owens: A charged-up Kevin Owens started the action by throwing a series of punches, trying to take down Seth Rollins as quickly as he could. However, the Monday Night Messiah hit back with consecutive powerful slams in the apron, thus shifting the momentum into his favour.

Seth then hit Owens with two suicide dives but it seemed that the latter was prepared for anything that would come his way. Owens then got his grip back in the contest, hitting Seth with a super kick, a canonball, and a swanton.

The action then shifted outside the ring and Seth used the ring bell to knock Owens down, forcing the official to end the match and declare Kevin Owens as the winner via disqualification.

However, Owens after gaining consciousness decided to continue with the match and offered Seth to continue with the match. The contest then converted into a no-disqualification match and Seth took advantage of the modified rules, knocking Owens down with the ringside steps, and the steel chair.

As mentioned earlier, Owens was prepared for the worse and soon he crawled his way back into the action, as he used the same ring bell, which Seth had earlier used to knock him down.

Owens then gave both the fans and himself an epic WrestleMania moment, as he climbed to the top of WrestleMania board, diving straight into the announce table with Seth lying on top. He then dragged the Monday Night Messiah back into the ring and hit him with a stunner to grab the win.

The Undertaker vs AJ Styles (Boneyard match): The stage was not as grand as The Undertaker is more accustomed with, but his Boneyard Match against AJ Styles did leave the fans entertained at home. The Deadman went on to win the contest after chokeslamming Styles from the top off a barn. He then dragged an unconscious Styles into an empty grave, and pitted sand over him.

With this win Undertaker's record in WWE's grandest stage extended to 25-2, with Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns being the only stars to defeat him at this event.

The Miz & Morrison vs The Usos vs The New Day (Ladders match): John Morrison defeated Jimmy Uso and Kofi Kingston in a triple threat ladder match as the pair of The Miz and Morrison retained the SmackDown Tag Team Championship.

It was a breathtaking ending as all the three superstars had their hand on the title towards the closing segment of the contest. But after a triple headbutt, Morrison fell off the ladder but he came down with the title in his possession, thus making him the winner.
