On the 8th of January on KBS’s Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook, artist NIve appeared where the host Yoo and NIve talked about the process of working on BTS‘s “Blue & Grey.”

During the interview, host Yoo introduced the song as if NIve was the original composer and singer of the song. This remark made Army’s think that the broadcast were an infringement of the creator’s intellectual property rights. They requested an official apology from Yoo Heeyeol, and NIve to the BTS as well as Viewers.

Both NIve and Yoo Heeyeol’s Sketchbook made an apology post.

On the 8th of January 2021, NIve apologized on Instagram for not recognizing the potential misinterpretation of the situation and promised to be more careful to prevent something like this to happen again. He also emphasized that he was truly honored and grateful for being given the opportunity to partake in the project.

And today Yoo Heeyeol’s Sketchbook released an aplogy saying, “There have been many questions and request due to the January 8, 2021 broadcast. Although we put all the song credits for BTS’s “Blue & Grey” in the subtitles, Yoo used the word ‘original composer’ when introducing the song, creating confusion and misunderstanding that the song was written by one person. We apologize to BTS, NIve, and to the fans for causing concern. The interview video clip has been deleted and going forward, we will work harder to be a show that pays more attention to the musician’s point of view.”

BTS’s “Blue & Grey” was created with the collaborated efforts of NIve, V, Suga, RM, J-Hope, Levi, Metaphor, and Hiss Noise.
