Your view: Do you think nepotism is still predominant in Bollywood?

·1-min read

With the shocking news of one of the more successful stars of Bollywood, Sushant Singh Rajput ending his life, questions about what led to this irreversible step are rife. Some reports suggest Sushant was struggling on account of lack of opportunities and was being isolated by the Bollywood fraternity despite being one of the more promising stars.

Netizens are slamming Bollywood biggies and accusing them of nepotism and citing it as one of the reasons that might’ve led to Sushanth’s tragic end.

If talented stars like Sushant have to battle it out to survive in tinsel town, who do you think is sweeping the real opportunities? Actress Kangana Ranaut had once famously lashed out against the prevalent nepotism in Bollywood on ‘Koffee With Karan’.

But, let’s not discount the fact that it is the same industry where the Kanganas’ and Deepikas’ who don’t come from a lineage of actors have made their mark and are stlll going strong. It is the same industry where nepotism didn’t get the likes of Abhishek Bachchan and Neil Nithin Mukesh too far. It is the same industry where Ayushman Khurrana stands in a league of his own.

Do you believe nepotism still gets the better of talent in Bollywood? Or it Bollywood evolving and an arena for real talent and strong minded people who can weather it all? Does real talent get noticed and take you all the way to the top? Share your views below.
